Dog boarding and day care in Loughborough and Melton Mowbray, area by area

Loughborough and Melton Mowbray's five areas run from Loughborough itself out to Shepshed & Quorn, Melton Mowbray, Coalville and Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and this directory's fourteen dog boarding, day-care and home-boarding businesses are spread across all five, though not evenly. Melton Mowbray and Ashby-de-la-Zouch each hold the largest share.

Shepshed & Quorn2

Ashby-de-la-Zouch4

Every one of the five areas has at least one listed business, so there is no area covered here with nothing at all, though Coalville's single listing means a search there turns up far fewer options than in Melton Mowbray or Ashby-de-la-Zouch; it is worth widening a Coalville search to a neighbouring area if you need more choice.

Melton Mowbray

The strongest area on this page, with four boarding kennels, all licensed by Melton Borough Council: Buena Vista Boarding Kennels & Cattery, Murrayhill Boarding Kennels, Old Station Kennels and White Lodge Boarding Kennels and Cattery. Three of the four also board cats alongside dogs, and Murrayhill and Old Station both run additional services (grooming, and training classes) from the same site.

Ashby-de-la-Zouch

Also four businesses, all licensed by North West Leicestershire District Council: two home boarders, Ashby Happy Hounds and Cosy Canine Club Ashby, both of which only take small or spaniel-sized dogs; The Dogs Dog Sitters, also a home boarder; and Farmlands Canine Country Club Dog Day Care, a day-care site off the Ashby bypass whose current licence is worth checking before you book (see the council licences guide).

Loughborough

Three home boarders cover this area, all licensed by Charnwood Borough Council: Care4Paws, Woof Lodge Dog Hotel and Zewmies Pet Care Services. All three also take day-care bookings alongside overnight stays, so it is worth asking each one which service best fits what your dog needs.

Shepshed & Quorn

Two businesses cover this area, also under Charnwood Borough Council: Old Parsonage Kennels & Cattery, a day-care and cat-boarding site, and Pucci Dogs Daycare & Home Boarding, a home boarder with a day-care licence alongside it. With only two listed, it is worth checking the neighbouring Loughborough area too if neither suits your dog.

Coalville

One business is listed here, Dogtastic Daycare, run from Broom Leys Farm on the edge of the town and licensed by North West Leicestershire District Council for day care. A single listing means a search here will turn up far fewer options than in Melton Mowbray or Ashby-de-la-Zouch, so it is worth widening a Coalville search to a neighbouring area if you need more choice.

How these areas were worked out

An area shown here follows the district a business's council licence places it in, matched to the postcode district each area covers: LE11 for Loughborough, LE12 for Shepshed & Quorn, LE13 and LE14 for Melton Mowbray, LE67 for Coalville and LE65 for Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Every business shown also has a confirmed phone number, so the counts above only include businesses that could actually be reached, not every name found in research; a fuller council register may list further operators for any of these five areas that could not be confirmed this way.
