Amy's Pet Retreat runs boarding kennels near Boxted, in the Highwoods area, across around four acres, with each kennel having its own outdoor run and heating or air conditioning. It publishes a price of £25 per dog per night, and offers collection and drop-off to a time and place the owner chooses, with drop-off and collection windows of 7am to noon and 3pm to 6pm. Colchester City Council licenses the kennels with a 4-star rating and a licence running to January 2027; the council register still shows the premises under an earlier name, Moaning Kennels.
